Have you started using social media for your business? It is a great way to gain free exposure for your business and connect with your customers, but its main function is to generate traffic to your website – not direct sales. For example, having thousands of followers on Twitter doesn’t mean they will use your service, it only means you have a chance to route them to your website. What they see when they get there will determine if you actually get them as a customer.

You can’t sell anything on Twitter, just like you can’t sell anything on TV – they’re both just vehicles to let prospects know why they should check out your website… where you do have things for sale!

That being said, think about your own website. Do you even have one? What does it communicate? How does it look? A few months ago, we performed hundreds of website critiques and I was stunned by the results. Many websites, who take orders over the phone, didn’t even have a phone number on their homepage. With over 85% of consumers going to your website before they call you, you simply cannot afford to have an unprofessional, difficult-to-understand or out-of-date website. A website is the ultimate first impression – don’t blow it!

I know one of the hardest things to do is view your own marketing materials objectively. It’s usually necessary to have someone outside of the team that built your site to give it a full and honest outside perspective – and that person had better be EXACTLY who your target market is, or someone trained in marketing. That is why I started offering website critiques through PostcardMania! Your website is a very important part of your direct mail campaign since that is where most people will go first!

If you do not LOVE your website, you need to let my team take a look at it. Our critique will give you changes that can be made immediately to improve your site’s performance, as well as things to test out going forward. They will compile a detailed, multi-page report that reviews every aspect of your site: how it looks, how it functions, and ways to improve both to make it as profitable as possible. I had a customer tell me that our final product on the critique is better data and more thorough than another critique he paid 10 times as much for… but we charge as little as we can because we really just want to help you get a better response on your mailings! If you want my team to take a look, give us a call at 1-800-628-1804.

See you tonight – either here or online!
