Joe Hill started his business, Share My Coach, in 2006. He had bought an RV and then realized he didn’t want to keep it. After trying to sell it, he looked for companies that could rent it out or sell it with no luck. So Joe tried renting it out on his own and got a great response. Joe realized the RV was worth more renting than selling and expanded his efforts by renting out other people’s RVs too.

One of his recent postcard designs included the following features:
- A list of benefits for listing an RV with Share My Coach
- A call to action on the back of the card in bold letters and in a bright color (red)
- Attention-grabbing photos on the front and back of the postcard
He provided his own mailing list of RV owners in the area and mailed out 4,792 postcards from April 2022 to May.
They received 34 responses and made $1,020,000 in revenue!
Thirty-four people responded, and they generated $1,020,000 in revenue! Since they spent $5,509.32 on this campaign, they received an ROI of 18,414%.
Each new client makes the business about $30,000. They receive about 1% of that in the first 2 weeks, and the rest increases over 6 months, so Joe and his team are expecting even more revenue to come in during the upcoming months.
The postcards have done so incredibly well for Share My Coach that the business is now doing $10 million in rentals a year. At one point, they were actually growing too fast and had to close down 5 out of their 8 store locations.
He says to anyone thinking about trying direct mail marketing to be careful what they wish for because postcards can generate you too much business!
