Optometry Case Study Video

The Situation

Vision First Optometry in Hickory, NC wanted to bringing in new patients and after trying local newspaper and radio ads that were unsuccessful, they needed a new way to attract new patients. That’s when they reached out to the marketing consultants at PostcardMania to take advantage of our advertising expertise to expand their patient base.

The Solution

They decided on a direct mail marketing campaign to get their message out.

Vision First Optometry’s postcard design included:

  • A satisfaction guarantee, taking all the risk out of purchasing new eye glasses.
  • A 20% and 30% off offer on the front of the card.
  • A 5-star review from a current customer which builds social repute for the office.

With the right postcard design, next they had to get their message in front of the right people.  After clearly defining their ideal client, their marketing consultant was able to get them a super targeted mailing list that check off all the boxes: families residing nearby, a household income of $75,000+, abd ages 35-60.

Another important factor to their success, was the consistency of their mailings.  They started sending out 2,000 postcards a month and since upped it 6,000 mailers every month to the same list.  This message repetition means that the next time one of the recipients needs an eye doctor, Vision First Optometry will definitely be a place they look into.

The Results

90 new customers!

This optometry office, received 188 unique calls as a result of their direct mail marketing campaign.  They converted 90 of those calls into customers.  Vision First Optometry generated an immediate $31,500 in revenue for the practice.

As a result of the success from their postcard marketing campaign, they are now planning on opening new practices in the near future.
