I’m your host Shannon Johnson (PostcardMania’s Web Design Specialist), and my next analysis comes from the landscaping industry. The business, Green Angels Landscaping, is located in Columbia, MD.

Design:

The main colors of the site are green and black, which gives it an elegant look. They made the very smart choice of using huge, high-resolution images of their work as the main backdrop for the site. When you see the pictures you can see why this is a smart move. It’s very evident that they are very good at what they do.

Marketing:

Here are some of my favorite marketing strategies at work on this site…

1) Portfolio Page – If you want to show prospects you know what you’re doing, there’s no better way than by showing them pictures of your previous work. The pictures on this page are fantastic, so they serve to build trust with the visitors of their site.

2) Social Media Links – It’s important to give prospective clients as many opportunities as possible to connect with your company. Featuring links to your social media platforms is a great way to do this.

3) Phone Number and Location in the Top Right Corner – Providing contact opportunities is essential for lead generation. Using the top right corner to prominently feature their phone number and mention the area they serve lets visitors know right away if they can help them and how to get in contact.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization):

SEO is the practice of optimizing the copy on your website so that search engines can understand what your website is about and how they should rank it for particular keywords. This website is optimized for keywords like “landscape design,” which will attract high-quality prospects to their site. These are prospects who will be easier to convert into clients, because they are already looking for what Green Angels offers.

Copywriting:

The copy on the site focuses on the marketing benefits of the company, turning their clients’ outdoor spaces into gorgeous and exotic landscapes. They frequently use bullet points to break down what they offer to their prospective clients and how it benefits their lives. The copy communicates efficiently and effectively with great clarity.

Programming:

From a programming standpoint, this site was flawless. Navigation was seamless. All the pictures looked great. I didn’t experience any problems whatsoever. That’s exactly what you want.
