Freshen up Your Postcard Marketing (Part 1 of 3): Landing Pages

Spring is on its way and people will be cleaning their houses and offices to freshen up their lives. You need to do the same with your marketing. You would be astounded at the effect a few little additions or changes can have…

That’s why I decided to do a series on 3 ways to breathe new life into your postcard marketing and get even better results from your campaigns!

Let’s start this week with the first step…

Creating a Dedicated Landing Page

A landing page is a webpage designed specifically for prospects to LAND on. Clever, right? It is the web address you put on your postcards, so you can control exactly what the prospect sees when they first go to your site. It is estimated that 90% of interested recipients of your postcard will visit your website before calling your business, so this is a huge deal.

Think of a landing page as your online receptionist. It knows exactly what has brought your prospects to it, because you design it in concert with your postcards. It reinforces your postcards’ message, while introducing your prospects to the rest of your website.

That’s all great, but here is the real benefit of a landing page…

It is designed to collect contact information from prospects. This is the true benefit of a landing page. Bringing prospects to this page first allows you to be in complete control of how they interact with your business. That means you can design the page with exactly the content the recipient needs/expects and also use that content to get an email address for the prospect. Now they are a legitimate lead!

This contact information can automatically populate your database, so if they don’t buy from you on the first visit, you can follow up with them via email in the future. You can also use DirectMail2.0, an online follow-up tool, for your landing page to bring more conversions from each campaign automatically. Since it’s a specifically dedicated landing page, you can also use it to track your postcard campaign’s response. It’s a great way to spice things up and go that extra mile to bring in those new clients.

Do you have a landing page set-up for your postcards? Have you ever experienced a landing page as a prospect? Let’s talk about your thoughts below in the comments…
