Clearwater, FL, October 31, 2007 – Only starting her company a little less than 9 years ago, Joy Gendusa CEO of PostcardMania, never thought her postcard marketing idea would get her to where she is today. Her company, who has seen straight up expansion since its inception, had its groundbreaking ceremony yesterday [October 30th] for its new headquarters building: a $3.4 million-dollar, 22,800 sq. ft. project in Clearwater, Florida. The Clearwater business community celebrated the company’s success along side Mayor Hibbard, Vice-Mayor Doran, Councilmember Cretekos and Florida State Rep. Ed Hooper.
PostcardMania started as a pilot and became the first direct mail postcard marketing firm to promote to general business. Upon realizing that her services met an unmet demand, Gendusa expanded her endeavors nationwide. Today, PostcardMania has over 28,000 customers representing over 350 industries nationwide. The postcard marketing niche Gendusa discovered and cultivated created a succession of subsequent postcard marketing companies starting up in her wake.
Despite Florida’s home sales, retail sales and domestic immigration declining, Gendusa’s determination to succeed is evident. The motif behind her new headquarters is to inspire her employees and create for them a home away from home. Some of the home-like amenities include a gym, nursery, lounge areas and a health-food cafeteria. The overall design is intended to give the people of PostcardMania a fun, creative and high energy workplace that is highly motivating.
There’s so many good things that are going on right now [in Clearwater] but without good companies, good corporate partners, jobs being created, we can’t have a vibrant community, said Mayor Hibbard at groundbreaking. So it’s exciting to see someone like PostcardMania actually expanding.
Florida Representative Ed Hooper also spoke at the ceremony and agreed with Mayor Hibbard calling PostcardMania the gem of Clearwater.
