Westmoreland Country Club is located in Export, Pennsylvania. They were looking for a creative way to recruit club members so they contacted PostcardMania for ideas.

They decided on a postcard marketing campaign that targeted nearby wealthy residents. The central item of a beautiful golf course gives this card a classy feel.

Westmoreland Country Club’s postcard design included:

  • A headline that conveys luxury
  • An offer for 50% off golf memberships with the purchase of a club membership
  • A bulleted list of what their membership includes

The biggest reason for this campaign’s success was the laser-targeting of their mailing list.  Westmoreland Country Club’s memberships are fairly expensive, they needed to target those nearby who could realistically afford it. So, their mailing list hyper-targeted everyone in a 16 mile radius from their location with an income of $150,000 and a home market value of $300,000.

According to Westmoreland Country Club, they got 5-10 new membership sign-ups! The cost for a full membership is $6,000 a month, however with the special on the card, people were able to sign up for 50% off. This will generate them an annualized income of $15,000-$30,000!!
