The Situation

Dunn-Edwards Paints is a painting supply store with headquarters located in Los Angeles, CA. They wanted to increase their sales, so they came to PostcardMania for marketing help.

The Solution

PostcardMania designed a 4.25 x 6 postcard that included the following features:

  • An offer of free painter’s pants, given as a scratch-off game on the card which increases engagement with the mailer
  • A professional photo of a sales representative, which makes the postcard more personal and encourages trust with the recipient
  • Product descriptions on the back of the card, with benefits, to show their high-quality offerings

Dunn-Edwards Paints mailed out 925 postcards to their own list of customers. The front of the postcard said, “We miss you!” and was sent out with the intent of bringing back previous customers and increasing sales numbers. The mailers also let their customer base know they have new stores in their area that they can visit.

The Results

They generated 12 responses and $1,980 in revenue!

As a result of this campaign, 12 people responded, all of them were converted and Dunn-Edwards Paints made $1,980 in revenue. Overall, they spent $706 on this direct mail campaign (including postage), so their ROI is 180%.

Dunn-Edwards Paints has continued to use PostcardMania for their marketing and have ordered thousands more postcards since their first campaign in May 2022.
