The Situation
Grass Life USA is a landscaping contractor located in Tuscombia, AL that serves the Muscle Shoals area. They were looking for a creative way to let residents know about their services so they contacted PostcardMania for ideas.
The Solution
They decided on a direct mail marketing campaign bundled with Google, Instagram and Facebook advertising in our Everywhere Small Business package. You can see those advertisements above. As you’ll notice, these ads are all coordinated — that’s to ensure your ads are maximizing the impact they have on prospects and actually overcome the ad blindness that so many consumers have built up. Grass Life USA’s postcard included:
- A headline and central image that follow the company’s USA theme
- Several money-saving offers on their services
- A QR code that leads to a landing page on their website with a lead capture form, exchanging their email for a 50% off discount
Tuscombia is a fairly rural town with a population of just under 8,500; the entire area of Muscle Shoals is only housing around 14,000 people. Because of this, they needed to make sure every postcard counted. So their mailing list targeted only those houses near their location worth at least $150,000 to ensure they would be receptive to paying for lawn care.
Their first successful direct mail campaign included 20,000 postcards. During this particular campaign the Google ads made 102,975 impressions and resulted in 648 clicks, and the Facebook ads made 8,442 impressions and resulted in 154 clicks.
Then Grass Life USA’s second successful mailer campaign had 12,000 postcards. Since their Everywhere Small Business plan continued running, their Google ad impressions increased significantly to 479,645 impressions and 4,902 clicks, and their Facebook ads increased to 158,884 impressions and 1,477 clicks.
The Results
They generated $75,000 in revenue!
For their first successful marketing campaign, Grass Life USA received over 60 phone calls! Fifty of those responses received services from them and generated about $25,000!
Then their second postcard campaign brought in 150 responses and they converted 100 of them. This new business resulted in $50,000 in revenue.
Overall, Grass Life USA invested $17,866 in these two direct mail campaigns and generated $75,000 in revenue total. Consequently, their ROI amounts to 320%.
