Van Dell Jewelers was a jewelry company based in Royal Palm Beach, FL. They were closing their stores, so they decided to announce it by mailing postcards to local residents.

The Solution

PostcardMania designed a 6 x 8.5 inch postcard that included the following features:

  • An offer for 10% off at their sales event
  • An announcement that they are closing stores in big bold letters to grab attention
  • Postcard designed in bright colors so that it stands out in the mailbox

Van Dell Jewelers mailed 30,000 postcards in increments of 10,000 pieces over two months. They used a mailing list that targeted single-family homeowners making $100,000 a year or more.

They also combined their mailers with digital advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, and Google through an Everywhere Small Business program. The Facebook and Instagram ads were displayed 21,720 times and clicked on 1,371 times and the Google ads were displayed 122,117 times and clicked on 798 times.

The Results

They made $270,000 in revenue!

Their liquidation sales event was very successful and 600 people came out to use the discount listed on the card. As a result, Van Dell Jewelers generated $270,000 in revenue. They invested $23,526 on this direct mail campaign, so their ROI amounted to 1,048%.
