The Situation
Co-owner Jon Ambach helped start a pressure washing and holiday lighting installation company Bright Choice in San Antonio, TX. At first, he tried all kinds of digital marketing, like Facebook ads, Google ads, Yelp and more. However, a majority of those online ads didn’t deliver the revenue he was looking for, so Jon decided to try direct mail.
The Solution
PostcardMania designed a 6 x 8.5 mailer with the following features:
- A QR code that when scanned goes to their website for more information
- An offer for $100 off a first installation
- Information about their lighting packages on the back of the card
They did a starter direct mail campaign of 6,000 postcards mailed to their own list of contacts in the local area. They targeted wealthy homeowners who could afford their holiday lighting services. As a result from that campaign, they gained 7 new customers and made $15,531 in revenue! Then, since they wanted to increase their results even more, they decided to switch to an Everywhere Small Business Platinum plan that also includes matching digital ads and behavioral ads.
The digital ads targeted the same audience as the mailers in order to increase brand awareness in the local community and increase response rates while the behavioral ads targeted interested prospects typing in specific search terms on Google. Bright Choice also increased their postcard mailings and sent out another 18,756 pieces.
The postcard mailing list for this Everywhere Small Business Platinum campaign targeted homes built between 1960 and 2020 valued at $300,000 or more.
The Results
They generated $39,081 in revenue and doubled the size of their business!
Bright Choice decided to invest more in their marketing and it paid off. Their investment increased $2,300 for the Everywhere Small Business Platinum plan, and as a result they generated $23,550 — which is 52% more than their first direct mail campaign without digital ads.
Overall, they have made $39,081 in revenue from these two campaigns and would love to see even more results in the future. The additional business they have received from these mailers has helped them double the size of their business.
