The Situation

Platte Canyon Dental is a family-owned dentist located in Littleton, CO. Dr. Christina Linn and her team were looking for ways to bring in new patients and increase revenue. They came to PostcardMania for assistance with marketing to their local community.

The Solution

They chose a direct mail marketing campaign and the Everywhere Small Business package that includes call tracking, Google ads and Facebook ads. Platte Canyon Dental also purchased a saturation mailing list that targeted families within a 2-mile radius of their dental office where the median household income was $100,000 or more, and the median home market value was $500,000 or more. Since everyone needs their teeth cleaned, the list included everyone on the mail carrier routes within the targeted residential areas.

PostcardMania designers created two different postcard designs using the same logo colors and design theme.

Both designs included the following features:

·         Offers for free teeth whitening trays and a free consultation or second opinion

·         A friendly photo of Dr. Linn’s family showing that the practice is warm and inviting, and they treat their patients like family members

·         A customer testimonial to help build confidence and trust with their dentists

The first design had a distinct headline urging recipients to use their dental benefits before the end of the year, encouraging them to take action quickly. The second design focused on bringing in patients for the New Year and contained messaging about healthy teeth and gum services for the whole family.

PostcardMania mailed out a total of 48,000 postcards, size 6″ x 8.5″, in four batches of 12,000. Since their campaign included call tracking, every prospective customer who called the unique phone number listed on the card was recorded, so team members could perform follow-ups. Google and Facebook ads displaying the same graphic designs as the postcards subsequently showed up on potential patients’ web feeds to keep Platte Canyon Dental’s message fresh in their minds.

As a result of their simple, but unique, marketing campaign, Platte Canyon Dental received 58 new patients! They also brought in 115 patients from unknown sources, so the total amount of new patients could be even higher.

Each new patient brings in about $500 or more, so this Littleton, CO dentist earned at least $29,000. That doesn’t count the future earnings they will receive as these new patients become long-term patients with this dental office, receiving care for years to come.
