The Situation

Beach Haven is a borough of the Jersey Shore that is largely populated by seasonal residents. The Beach Haven Taxpayers Association is a nonprofit watchdog group that monitors local government on behalf of the community. The association relies on membership fees and donations to help them improve the quality of life for area residents, the so they called PostcardMania for help getting the word out.

The Solution

With the help of our consultants, the association decided on a direct mail marketing campaign that would reach local taxpayers with their purpose and solicit memberships.

They sent an envelope with a one-page letter and a membership form to 2,152 Beach Haven taxpayers.

The letter included:

  • The history and purpose of the association
  • Examples of what they have been able to accomplish
  • A call to action (fill out the membership form and send it in with your dues)

The Results

A 285% return on investment!

The nonprofit organization was pleased to receive a 10% response rate on their letter campaign! They generated about $4,000 in membership fees and donations from 20 residents. Thats money that will help them represent both the full-time and seasonal residents of Beach Haven over the course of the next year!
