The Situation
Freeport Dental is a dental office located in Freeport, IL. They wanted to bring in more patients every month, so they reached out to PostcardMania for help with their marketing.
The Solution
Freeport Dental started mailing with PostcardMania in 2016. They did a variety of campaigns to promote their dental offices, including traditional campaigns and a daily mailer campaign that targeted new residents who recently moved in the area.
The New to Town mailers went out daily based on fresh data when new residents arrived in Freeport.
These New to Town daily mailers included the following features:
- A strong headline that said, “Welcome to the Neighborhood!”
- A list of locations
- Photos of their offices so the prospect could identify them easily
- A list of accepted dental insurances on the back of the card
Freeport Dental also used different mailing lists, including Every Door Direct Mail that targeted local residents who lived near their office and also families with children in the home. Since they ran multiple types of direct mail marketing campaigns and kept their postcard mailings consistent, they had great success bringing in new patients.
Since they started, Freeport Dental has mailed more than 1,757,093 postcards and they have more scheduled to go out every month for the foreseeable future.
The Results
They opened new locations, hired 11 more staff, and doubled the amount of their patients!
Since starting direct mail marketing, Freeport Dental has generated enough revenue to open two new locations! Their new patient numbers went “through the roof” as they said. They counted 735 new patients at the general office and 559 new patients at the second location that does oral surgery, and they are still receiving new patients all the time.
They have also noticed that the uptick in new patients directly correlates to when they started mailing postcards. In 2023, they had 3,344 new patients. In 2024, they jumped to 4,265. In 2026, they are on track for 8,516 new patients, almost doubling the new patient count since 2023. In 2025 they started to send out postcards monthly and can see the big impact it has made.
To keep up with the influx of business, Freeport Dental hired 4 new dental hygienists and two new doctors. They also added more administrative staff to help with tasks like verifying insurance and sending bill claims.
When asked why they feel their campaign has been so successful, they said, “Consistency has been the biggest factor, mailing every month keeps our name in front of people. Even if they don’t call right away, they remember us when they need a dentist like for a toothache. Another key to success has been following PostcardMania’s proven design strategies. Their new goal is to avoid their September slump by continuing direct mail marketing. Freeport Dental also highly recommends mailers to other dentists.
