Dungeness Pest Control is located in Port Angeles, Washington. They were looking for a creative way to let nearby residents know they can help keep pests out of their home in the summer months, so they contacted PostcardMania for help.

They decided on a direct mail marketing campaign that blanketed postcards along carrier routes near their business’s location.

Dungeness Pest Control’s design included:

• A headline that immediately communicates what they’re trying to sell
• An offer for $50 off their services
• An in depth 5 star review from a previous client

A huge contributor to this campaign’s success was the amount of postcards they sent out. Since they decided on an EDDM mailing list that offers minimal targeting, they saturated a large area with over 40,000 postcards. Since pests don’t discriminate, everyone can use their services, and the more postcards sent out the more likely they’ll reach receptive eyes.

Another reason they gained traction was the timing of their mailings. They mailed out in May and June, which is the beginning of pest season. This timing ensured that every recipient that has had a pest problem in the summer before was especially receptive to their messaging.
