Business owners ask me all the time how I was able to rise above the fray and make PostcardMania a leader in our industry. How did I make the transition from day to day operations to being able to come and go as I please and participate in the business activities I enjoy while having others do the tasks I don’t?
PostcardMania is almost 14 years old and I have been free of the daily grind for over 10 years!
My job now consists of the actions I find to be the most fun — marketing. And because of that, I’ve been able to grow PostcardMania by leaps and bounds without any capital injections.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that our really successful clients usually have one thing in common…
The owner is a marketer, too.
Whether they are an attorney, plumber, realtor, dentist, roofer, etc., they put a LOT of attention on marketing and understand more about marketing than their competitors. They just keep researching, learning and implementing better ways to reach and convert their market.
The premier example of a marketer-CEO is Steve Jobs. He had a knack for knowing exactly what would resonate with his target market when it came to design, packaging and advertising, and according to a multitude of sources, he was VERY involved with all the marketing that Apple produced.
He was a genius marketer and a CEO. He increased Apple’s market value by 7,020% from 2000-2011, from $5 billion to $351 billion. That makes the second most valuable company in America.
Clearly, it pays to be passionate about marketing. And that passion is the very thing that I have become passionate about sharing with my fellow business owners through PostcardMania’s special client events.
I’m not claiming to be the next Steve Jobs, but we do share a few qualities when it comes to marketing and leadership, and they have helped me get where I am today. At my Take Your Business to the Next Level event coming up at the end of March, I intend to share with you those qualities and teach you how to use them to grow your business to the level you desire.
The event is March 28-29 in Clearwater, Florida. View the full agenda. Registration is just $97 for PostcardMania customers ($995 for non-customers)
