5 Ways to Use Your Facebook Business Page Effectively

5 Ways to Use Your Facebook Business Page EffectivelyFacebook is a hot button topic for marketers. Some say it ushered in a new era of advertising, rendering traditional media obsolete. Others insist it has no place in the business world, especially for small business!

Well, it turns out they’re both partially right: Facebook has ushered in a new era of advertising, BUT it is an add-on to traditional media in most cases. I can’t imagine a dentist filling their schedule using Facebook alone!

What is its use in business and how can you make it work for you? Well, one of the reasons folks don’t buy from you is lack of trust. Facebook – and all social media – is a great way to allow prospects to get to know you and thus, trust you.

So what does all this mean to a business owner who’s just trying to grow their company any way they can?

It means there is a balance to be struck. You still need to market using traditional media. Facebook just doesn’t have the ability to bring in loads of new customers. However, you can enhance your current marketing results by launching a supplementary social media campaign on Facebook.

Here are four ways to effectively leverage Facebook:

  1. Post Company Pictures

Take pictures of in-office events, funny situations, birthday celebrations, etc. Posting these to your Facebook account helps customers and prospects feel more at ease with your company. People like to know who they are doing business with, and they will be more willing to engage with you in business if they are engaged with you on social media.

  1. Post Interesting Questions

It’s your job to get a conversation started on your page. Post interesting questions and encourage responses. These could be anything from “What’s your biggest challenge with your product?” to “Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl this year?” People like to talk about themselves and asking questions definitely gets them talking!

  1. Feature Customers

Reward your customers and prospects by talking about them on your page. People are more willing to share and suggest your page to their friends when they have a post with their name in it to send people to.

  1. Post Informational Links and Videos

There’s nothing better than content that actually helps your audience. Post informational links and videos to help your followers – even if they’re not your own! If the information is relevant to your audience or to your message, go ahead and share. It doesn’t have to be all about you!

  1. Be Interested in Others

This may be the most important: comment on your follower’s posts and like their pages! When everyone is just talking about themselves – they’re getting nowhere pretty slowly! Facebook is time consuming and you need to make your actions count, so be equally interested in others!

Remember:

Facebook won’t single handedly save your business from destruction. It won’t bring you very many new leads, either. But what it will do is give you the chance to stay in touch with your current customers and allow you to develop long-lasting, profitable business relationships.
