Help Evaluate My New Home Page!

Posted in All Ask the Owner Blogs on June 29th, 2009 by 10.2 – 1 Comment

new-homepageOur Grand Opening party was a huge success and we’re so thankful for everyone who came and watched our live stream online! As we talked about last week, believe it or not, our social media marketing efforts are creating some good traffic!

Now back to the business of my new home page! I’ve been telling you over the last month or so how important it is to have a great website. Let me say it again: A quality web presence is a MUST in today’s business world, and you have to stay current on the latest website trends and functionality. So I’ve been saying it enough and then I stepped back and looked at my own site – AGAIN – and realized that I needed to make my home page more inviting. I want you to feel good when you are there, and have it be easy for you to find what you need and want. So we took a look at what we had, did some virtual soul-searching and real world number-crunching, and came up with a new look for our homepage. Since you are subscribers to my newsletter and I know you are interested in marketing, I really value your feedback.

Take a few minutes to look around our new home page and while you’re there, take a moment to fill out our quick survey if you have the time by clicking on the purple button at the top of the new home page.

Hopefully you like it, but either way, we look forward to hearing your suggestions! Besides, I’ve been asking you to let me redo your website, so I figured it was only right that I show you what we can do with ours!

If you are interested in PostcardMania upgrading your website, please email me at joy.gendusa@postcardmania.com and let me know what it is that you don’t love about your current site.

The New Rules of Marketing & PR

Posted in All Ask the Owner Blogs, Joy Recommends... on June 25th, 2009 by 10.2 – 1 Comment

The New Rules of Marketing and PRWith all the new media exposure and social networking we’ve been doing to promote our Grand Opening, I figured this was a good week to bring back one of my newer favorites from the “Joy Recommends” Archive. This book is an excellent resource for anyone looking to get better acquainted with all the new promotional tools available to businesses these days.

It really helped me see the value of these tools and how they interact. I think you’ll get a lot out of this read!

Video Critique: Say More With Less

Posted in All Ask the Owner Blogs, Video Critique on June 24th, 2009 by 10.2 – Be the first to comment

Say More With LessThe front of this card is very nice. I love the photo! It does a great job of speaking to its intended audience without the need for words.Without even a slogan, it compels the viewer to turn the card over.

The back is where all the words come in. A lot of them are not necessary. If the same message can be said in fewer words, then do so. Your viewers want only the most critical info, and they want it as briefly as possible.

I had my Art Director revise this design. Click through for the video and redesign.

Please Celebrate With Me

Posted in About PostcardMania, All Ask the Owner Blogs on June 15th, 2009 by 10.2 – Be the first to comment

Please Celebrate With MeWe’re growing! Celebrate with us at our Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Bash as we unveil our brand new corporate headquarters in Clearwater, FL! Can’t make it? We don’t want you to miss the fun. Watch it live at this location.

While you’re there, you’ll notice a bunch of new links for us. We’re quite social these days! Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are the latest craze for small businesses to global corporations. Why should you want anyone to follow your business on Twitter? Think of it as riding in on the next wave of advertising – and best of all, it’s free! My company has put our full force behind making a presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Plaxo and YouTube.

It’s an easy and viable way to track your other advertising mediums. Let’s say you put together a postcard and email campaign and you put a link to your Facebook page. The next day, you make 25 new “friends.” These “friends” can quickly turn into customers, and then their “friends” will see your business online, and the cycle continues. The social media hype might look intimidating, but the long-term effects are worth the time, effort and, of course, the free price tag!

Don’t be fooled, though: social media is fantastic, but it is not the end-all of marketing. You need to have definite, proactive, direct response-type advertising in place as well. You can spend a lot of time perusing Facebook and not get one new client. Use it in coordination with your other, more mass-marketing efforts. Not everyone is up on social media yet. You still need to drive traffic to your website and have a way to capture the contact info of site visitors so that you can follow up. Quantity comes first when it comes to marketing. You will have better results from lousy high quantity than amazingly brilliant onesy-twoseys… Please ask me whatever you want about this – I love when you write to me!

But, I digress… If you can’t come to the actual grand opening, do check it out on live streaming video – pretty high tech of my team, eh??

Joy
